Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Systems, or Automotive Engineering (or closely related field)
• At least 2 years of accredited engineering coursework completed by internship start
• Foundational understanding of thermodynamics, electrical circuits, or automotive systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data logging and reporting
• Ability to work onsite full-time in Detroit, MI for the duration of the internship
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Nice to Have

• CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) or simulation tools (MATLAB, ANSYS) experience
• Prior internship, co-op, or research experience in automotive, energy, or manufacturing
• Familiarity with EV/HEV systems, battery technology, or powertrain components
• Exposure to data acquisition tools, oscilloscopes, or lab instrumentation
• SAE Formula, Baja SAE, EcoCAR, or similar competition experience
