About the Role
We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team and take ownership of critical infrastructure and API services that power our platform. In this role, you'll architect scalable solutions, mentor junior engineers, and have direct influence on our technical direction while working alongside talented teammates in a hybrid environment. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems and APIs that serve thousands of requests daily, ensuring reliability and scalability
Lead technical design discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions with a focus on best practices and long-term system health
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the engineering team through knowledge sharing and constructive feedback
Collaborate with product and frontend teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that exceed expectations
Optimize database queries, system performance, and infrastructure efficiency while monitoring and improving system observability
Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot production issues with a customer-first mindset, implementing lasting solutions
Champion testing practices, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end testing to maintain high code quality standards
What we're looking for
5+ years of professional backend engineering experience with a proven track record of building and shipping production systems
