About the Company
As a Junior Software Developer at My Company, you'll work within the Engineering team to design, write and maintain software that supports our core products and internal systems. This role is built for someone early in their career who wants guided exposure to the full software development lifecycle - you won't be thrown in the deep end without support.
You'll collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teammates on everything from feature development to bug investigation and code reviews. Over time, you'll take increasing ownership of specific modules or services as your confidence and context grow.
This is a hybrid role, combining in-person collaboration with focused remote work. We expect you to show up curious, communicate proactively and treat every code review and retrospective as a chance to learn.
About the Role
Join My Company's Engineering team as a Junior Software Developer and build real software products in a hybrid, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, readable and maintainable code across one or more areas of the codebase under the guidance of senior engineers
- Participate actively in code reviews - both receiving feedback and reviewing peers' contributions as your skills develop
- Debug and resolve defects reported through QA or production monitoring, documenting root causes and fixes
- Contribute to sprint planning and daily standups with clear status updates and early escalation of blockers
- Work with product and design to clarify requirements before writing code
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests to protect code quality and reduce regressions
- Document technical decisions, setup instructions and feature behavior in team wikis or READMEs
- Keep learning team standards, architecture patterns and domain context so you need less guidance over time

- Clear written communication for async collaboration in a hybrid team
- Openness to constructive technical feedback and the ability to act on it
Nice to have
- Exposure to AWS, GCP or Azure - personal projects or coursework count
- Familiarity with Docker or basic Kubernetes concepts
