Mid Software Engineer
iaig · Tel Aviv, Israel (hybrid) · full-time Salary: $180K–$280K/year
About iaig
IAIG is a technology company headquartered in Tel Aviv, building sophisticated software products that serve enterprise clients across global markets. With a growing engineering team and a culture grounded in technical rigor, IAIG sits at the intersection of product innovation and scalable systems — where engineers own meaningful problems end-to-end rather than execute tickets in isolation. The company has reached a stage where foundational decisions still matter and individual contributors leave a visible fingerprint on the architecture.
At IAIG, engineering is a first-class discipline. The team operates with high autonomy, invests seriously in craft, and ships iteratively against real user feedback. You'll work alongside engineers who care about code quality, system reliability, and each other's growth — in a hybrid environment designed to give you the best of focused deep work and genuine collaboration.
As a Mid Software Engineer at IAIG, you will design, build, and maintain features that span the full product surface — from clean API design on the backend to performant, accessible interfaces on the frontend. You'll work within a cross-functional squad that includes product, design, and data, and you'll have direct influence over technical decisions at the feature and service level.
The systems you'll touch handle meaningful scale and real business criticality, so you'll develop genuine instincts around reliability, observability, and graceful degradation — not just feature delivery. The team uses AWS as its primary cloud platform, deploys through automated CI/CD pipelines, and maintains a polyglot service landscape anchored in Python and Node.js, with a React-based frontend.
IAIG invests deliberately in engineer growth. You'll receive structured mentorship from senior engineers, participate in architecture review discussions, and have a clear path toward technical leadership.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs that are reliable, testable, and maintainable at scale
- Build and iterate on frontend components using React, ensuring performance, accessibility, and design fidelity
- Participate in system design discussions and contribute technical proposals for new features and cross-cutting concerns
- Write automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) and hold a high bar for code quality during peer code reviews
- Instrument services with structured logging, metrics, and alerts; diagnose and resolve production incidents with a focus on permanent fixes
- Collaborate with product and design to translate requirements into scoped technical work with clear acceptance criteria
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and champion DevOps practices that reduce deployment friction and increase release confidence
- Identify and address technical debt proactively, balancing short-term delivery with long-term system health
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience shipping production systems
- Strong proficiency in at least one primary backend language — Python, Java, Go, or Node.js — with the ability to read and contribute in a second
- Hands-on experience with AWS (or GCP/Azure) services including compute, storage, and managed databases in a production context
- Solid command of data structures, algorithms, and distributed system design principles, demonstrated through real architectural decisions
- Experience with both SQL (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Redis) databases, including query optimization and schema design
- Practical experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins, or equivalent) and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
- Familiarity with frontend development using React or a comparable component-based framework
- Demonstrated ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate design tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes in a production environment
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Prior exposure to observability tooling such as Datadog, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry
- Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment where engineering scope evolves rapidly
- Contributions to open-source projects or a visible portfolio of personal technical work
Benefits
- Competitive compensation: $180,000–$280,000 USD per year, calibrated to experience and scope
- Hybrid work model with flexible in-office days at IAIG's Tel Aviv office and full remote-capable infrastructure
- Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision for you and your dependents
- Annual learning and development budget for conferences, courses, certifications, and books
- Equity participation — every engineer has a stake in what we're building
- Home-office equipment stipend and ergonomic workspace support for hybrid days
