Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 14, 2026

This policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies VScout uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how you use the site. Some cookies are essential for the site to function; others help us improve our product.

2. Essential Cookies (Always Active)

These cookies are required for VScout to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can control cookies in several ways:

  • Cookie banner: When you first visit VScout, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customize your preferences
  • Update preferences: You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie Preferences" in the website footer
  • Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their privacy settings. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in to VScout

6. Other Tracking Technologies

  • Local storage: We use browser local storage for UI preferences (sidebar state, theme) and cookie consent state. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers
  • Vercel Speed Insights: We collect anonymous performance metrics (page load time, web vitals) to monitor site performance. This does not use cookies and does not track individual users

7. Do Not Track (DNT)

We honor Do Not Track browser signals. When DNT is enabled, we treat it as equivalent to declining analytics and marketing cookies.
